Executive Function Coaching
I am excited to announce that I have now qualified as an Executive Function Coach!
As an adult with ADHD myself, I wanted to be able to offer the right kind of support to other Neurodivergent adults who also have executive function difficulties. Having first hand experience of what that feels like, I can offer a level of understanding that is not always out there.
I offer a very down to earth service, I make mistakes too, but very often it is through making our mistakes that we learn the most. We do of course usually do well at learning the hard way!!
As you know, I am a qualified counsellor and have been working with clients for many years. I have always been passionate about helping people reach their full potential, and I believe that executive function coaching is a powerful tool that can help people achieve their goals. This can be used as a stand alone coaching or together with the counselling.
Executive function coaching is a type of coaching that focuses on helping people develop our thoughts, emotions, behaviours and skills we need to be successful in school, work, and life. These skills include things like:

- Task Initiation: The ability to begin projects/goals without undue procrastination, in an efficient or timely manner.
- Emotional Control: Being able to control emotions and behaviour in order to achieve goals, complete tasks.
- Response Inhibition: The capacity to think before you act.
- Working Memory: The ability to hold information in memory whilst performing complex tasks.
- Sustained Attention: The capacity to maintain attention to a situation or task in spite of distractibility, fatigue or boredom.
- Goal Directed Persistence: The capacity to have a goal, follow through to the completion of the goal and not be put off by or distracted by competing interests.
- Flexibility: The ability to revise plans in the face of obstacles, setbacks, new information or mistakes. It relates to an adaptability to changing conditions.

Executive function coaching can be helpful for adults of all ages who are struggling with executive function skills. It can be particularly helpful for people who are ADHD, autistic, and have other conditions that can affect executive function.
